NCA members interested in issues related to inclusion, diversity, equity, and access (IDEA) should consider nominating themselves or someone else for one of NCA’s inaugural IDEA awards.
The IDEA Engagement Award offers recognition for efforts and activities to engage communities in work that enhances inclusion, diversity, equity, or access, such as applying Communication theories to create positive community change.
The IDEA Scholarship Award offers recognition for scholarly engagement with inclusion, diversity, equity, and access, and focuses explicitly on research that offers new insights to the discipline.
The Shawn D. Long IDEA Program Award honors the career contributions toward inclusion, diversity, equity, and access from long-time NCA member Shawn D. Long. This award recognizes IDEA-related innovations at the department or program level.
