The Department of Communication at the University of Missouri offers the undergraduate Bachelor of Arts, and the graduate Masters of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Communication. Through our curriculum students learn to apply the study of communication to their professional and personal lives. The faculty have national and international reputations for research and teaching in six interrelated research areas.

Admission Requirements
- Official undergraduate/graduate transcripts.
- Résumé or Curriculum Vita.
- Three letters of recommendation, which should come from qualified people.
- A sample of scholarly writing.
- A statement of purpose (no more than 500 words).
- The Department of Communication will not require the GRE as part of the admission materials. Applicants may submit GRE scores for consideration if they feel that their scores are an accurate representation of their potential to succeed in graduate school. However, applicants will be given full consideration without submitting their standardized test scores and will not be penalized for not submitting scores.
