NCA Convention Updates
Early bird registration rates for the NCA 104th Annual Convention are available through Friday, September 7, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Please visit the Registration Information page on our website for more information and deadlines.
Group room blocks are available at six hotels in Salt Lake City: the Hilton, Holiday Inn, Hotel Monaco, Marriott Downtown at City Creek, Marriott at City Center, and Radisson. For information on how to reserve a room, please visit the Hotel and Travel Information page. Update: The Holiday Inn is sold out Thursday-Friday, with limited availability on all other nights. The Hilton is sold out Thursday-Saturday with limited availability on all other nights. This year, NCA is working with the housing bureau Orchid Events, and all reservations must be made by using the link provided, or by calling Orchid Events; reservations cannot be made directly with the hotels. A majority of the convention sessions, as well as the NCA Exhibit Hall and NCA Registration, will be located in the Salt Palace Convention Center.
This year’s Day of Service, once again sponsored by Kendall Hunt, will be held on Wednesday, November 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. Join us to fill 2,000 back sacks with school supplies for Salt Lake City-area public elementary school students. Learn more and RSVP on NCA’s Facebook event page.
The Waterhouse Family Institute for the Study of Communication and Society will be sponsoring “Environmental Justice in the American Southwest” on Friday, November 9, at 6:30 p.m. This event will build on NCA’s commitment to civic engagement by bringing together NCA members and community members to discuss indigenous American communities and environmental rights.
In the spirit of the convention theme, “Communication at Play,” the Annual Convention will host a Play Space that will attendees to engage with and explore the nature of play throughout the convention. The space will feature yoga, board games, improv games, performances, and more.
You can add these special events and others to your personal convention itinerary by using the “My Schedule” tab on NCA Convention Central, or by downloading the NCA program app. Search and install Eventsential on your mobile device. Then search for NCA and select the NCA 104th Annual Convention. Convention Central and the app also allow attendees to search the program by session sponsor, name, title, or keyword.
