Justin Danowski

Executive Director

Justin has been at NCA since 2012. During his time at NCA, Justin has served as the Academic and Professional Affairs Associate, where he helped create member resources and oversaw NCA’s scholarly society, Lambda Pi Eta; as the Membership Manager, where he managed the NCA member database and oversaw registration at the Annual Convention; and as Governance Director where he oversaw NCA's National Awards and was the staff liaison for the Legislative Assembly, Executive Committee, Nominating Committee, Resolutions Committee, and Interest Groups.    

As Executive Director, Justin is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the National Office staff. He works closely with the Executive Committee to further NCA’s mission of advancing Communication scholarship, teaching, and practice to foster a better world. Justin is passionate about member engagement, improving structures, practices, and policies within the Association, and cultivating a thriving, transparent, and diverse organization.

Born and raised in Macomb, Illinois, Justin holds an M.A. in Communication with a focus on Media Theory from Eastern Illinois University and a B.A. in Communication from the University of Illinois.

Outside of NCA, Justin is an active member of the Smithsonian Institution, the John F. Kennedy Center of Performing Arts, and George Washington’s Mount Vernon.
